About Heidi

Heidi came into our lives in October 2014 and changed our family forever!  She was tragically taken from us on 5/10/19 and our lives will never be the same again.  This website has been created as a memorial to celebrate her life and share her wonderful presence so that others can benefit from the beauty that she brought into this world.

She was a beautiful, energetic, vibrant, picture perfect, 110 lb, German Shepherd that was filled with pure joy and love (as you will see in the videos and pictures below).

A simple blood test turned into 48 hours of pure Hell on Earth and resulted in her untimely death at only 4-1/2 years of age.  She acquired what is known as aspiration pneumonia which rapidly advanced to sepsis within 48 hours. 

​

We do not want Heidi's death to be in vain.  This is a very serious situation that could happen to any dog family.  This should have been easily avoided through simple education and common sense care procedures.  Our biggest lesson in all of this is to never hesitate to obtain a second opinion when you suspect something is wrong and always listen to your pet.

Please enjoy the videos and photos of Heidi's short but beautiful life...  When you're finished wiping the tears from your eyes, know that this was more than a dog in our life.  She was a key member of this household and our best friend.  There is a special place in all of our hearts for Heidi that will always be reserved for just her.
